Hours: Mon and Tue 1:00-5:00 PM; Sat 8:00 AM-1:00 PM. Holiday hours may differ.
Fees: Pass $20 per year for the first household member, $1 for each additional person (price increase per a 01-09-2026 resolution; per-bag/item fees not stated). One trip per day.
Who may use it: Virgil residents only; proof of residency; pass/ID from the Town Clerk.
Accepted: Household trash generated in Virgil; recyclables under Cortland County rules (plastics, paper, cardboard, glass, tin and aluminum); couches cut into 4-ft sections by arrangement with the attendant.
Not accepted: Construction debris in dump trucks/trailers; Freon items (refrigerators, freezers, dehumidifiers, A/C); propane tanks; tires; trash longer than 4 ft.
