Hours: Open seven days a week, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Fees: Single entry (no permit): $5 per trip for cars and trucks under one ton, $30 for trucks over one ton. Resident permit $40 (valid two calendar years; half price when issued in odd-numbered years). Visiting non-resident permit $50 (valid for the calendar year). Commercial permit $120 for the first vehicle, $60 for each additional. Tip fees are charged by weight for items such as construction debris, tires and brush; metal and major appliances are free; refrigerant items $25 each; propane tanks $2 each. Recyclables only: no permit and no entry fee. Permits are bought at the Town Clerk's Office, not at the transfer station.
Who may use it: Residents bring their own waste and recyclables themselves. Permits are available to all users; vehicles without a permit pay the single entry fee. Commercial permits are for companies doing business in Southold Town with a valid Suffolk County business license.
Accepted: Household and commercial garbage and recyclables; bulky rubbish (weighed); construction and demolition debris; grass, leaves and brush; metal and major appliances; tires; refrigerant items; propane tanks; recyclables (cans, glass bottles, plastic containers, paper, corrugated cardboard).
